Maylin Ruth
Maylin was born November 11 at 11:50 p.m. She is a tiny little girl because she was born 16 days early, but she is very healthy. She is 6 lbs., 6.5 oz and 19.5 inches long. Mother, father and brother are doing well! More to come and there are about 15 pics on the Flickr page.

Halloween
We rarely do much of anything for Halloween, but for some reason this year we really got into it. All four of these pictures are from another recent Flickr upload, I know hard to believe two in three days. The first picture is of our pumpkins. We hadn't carved any in a few years, and it has been even longer since I tried anything difficult. A recent Food Network Competition got me inspired, and the result is my Darth Vader design. For the first time ever I tried to just remove partial layers of the pumpkin, and I am happy with the result. Jessie did a more simple design, I really like the facial expression.
As far as costumes, we had a few. Sam was a Kangaroo, and very cute. He even had a baby kangaroo in his pouch, and Jessie put a bow on it for it to represent his unborn sister. Then on Friday, we could dress up at school, and Jessie decided I should be Rorschach from Watchmen. I collected all the different clothing items I needed, and then made a mask from a t-shirt and a Sharpie. It turned out better than I could have imagined, and it was pretty fun walking around school without people recognizing who I was. Visibility was fairly good considering I was looking through a shirt.
Then Saturday night Jessie and I went to a costume party. Weeks in advance we knew about it and discussed our options. We were trying to come up with a famous couple that had a lot of kids, and Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were the first people we thought of. I actually dressed as Brad Pitt's character Rusty from the Ocean's movies, and drew on a very detailed tattoo he has on his left arm and hand. Angelina Jolie has lots of tattoos, two of which I drew on Jessie as you can see in the picture. The tattoo(s) on her left arm are the coordinates of the birthplaces of each of her six children. A very fun day!
