Sam has taken some major strides lately. First of all, as you see in the picture, he has been eating solid food. Cheerios, then mashed avacado, pumpkin, sweet potato and banana. He loves the Cheerios especially.
Then a probably bigger milestone is the crawling, and lots of it. He has been "half-crawling" for a long time, where he scoots along the ground. Well, last week some time he started really crawling, and going all over the house. He is really fast and if you turn your head he is on the other side of the room! He will be 7 months old in two days.

Crawling & Eating

Hail to the Redskins!
Our family is very excited about the Redskins beating the Cowboys yesterday, Sam hasn't stopped smiling since Romo threw that INT!
Sam is 6 months old and is making tons of new strides. He has eaten real food, sort of. He puts it in his mouth but doesn't swallow very often. He has tried: smashed bananas, avacados, sweet potatoes and Cheerios. He is getting closer and closer to crawling. He is great at "scooting" around the room.
Last night he went from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. without eating, which is a new record for him. He continues to wake up at 1:30 a.m. every night and scream for awhile, but we do our best to ignore him and he falls back asleep. Last night though was the first time he didn't wake up at 3:30 a.m. to eat, so hopefully he is through with that.
I just posted two galleries on the Flickr site, so check them out...

On the verge of crawling...

Seagrove Beach
We just got back from Seagrove Beach, FL, a full Parish family vacation. The first time all seven of us have been together for a week, it was a lot of fun. I just posted 150 photos on the Flickr site. They are from 3 different cameras and of the whole week, but obviously mainly feature Sam. His recent developments have been the discovery of his toes and that he loves to sit up. He can’t yet sit up on his own, but if you prop him up he can stay like that for awhile. He also rolls over non-stop when he is on the ground, and has just started to prop himself up on his arms and knees. He is very close to crawling, which I am both excited about and terrified of his potential mobility.

This last photo is of Jessie and I kayaking. Unknowingly we were paddling in the middle of a group of dolphins. I was actually swimming only a few feet away from them, but never saw them. Fortunately Daddy got pictures.

Cow Appreciation Day
Sorry for the lack of photos, it has been awhile. We have been doing lots of traveling, but we are back, and I am about to post a lot of images. This is an 'old' one, from about a month ago. Chick-Fil-A gave away free food if you dressed up like cows. We put together some make-shift costumes and we were there!
