The summer so far...

Life got busy, and this blog has been neglected. The picture you see above is a quick summary of the month of June. However, just because I haven't uploaded doesn't mean we haven't stopped taking them. I just uploaded four new sets to Flickr, one for each of the last four months.

Maylin is almost 8 months old, she started crawling at 6! She is a speedster and is constantly on the move. Sam is at his first ever summer camp this week, which is 5 half-days.

Here is our first summer project. We had friends give us a dining room table set that they found at a garage sale. We loved the structure and style but hated the colors (white paint with Easter-egg plaid seat covers). So we recovered the seats with new fabric and painted the table and all 8 chairs! More difficult than we thought when we started, but we love the result.

I just uploaded a new set to Flickr titled "Sam is 2". It includes pictures of his birthday but also the two weeks since. Here you see Maylin in a dress her Grandmama made her!

Maylin at 4 months and our new home

Here is a great shot of Maylin post-bath, she is 4 months old today. We are on Spring Break, which we have spent moving. We started the move last Friday, and have been unpacking and settling in ever since. We only moved about half a mile north, but we have twice as much space inside and yards for the first time. Below you can see Sam in the new kitchen, and right after this we saw deer in our backyard out these windows, which was fun.

Amazingly enough, it actually snowed in Rome last week. We have lived here for five years, and have had the occasional flurry, but never accumulation. Until Friday, when we had three inches! Sam had a ball, and so did I!
