Camping at Little Talbot Island

This year for Spring Break we returned to Little Talbot Island State Park, Florida, where Jessie and I camped 6 years ago. This would be our first time to camp as a family, and it was a huge success. The kids had a ton of fun, of course, and slept, which was key! We did two nights and wished we had stayed longer!

Gift-giving day #1

Sam woke up at 5:00 a.m. today because he was so excited to open presents. We held him out until 6:00, but we finished with our family gift exchange by 7:30 a.m., which is definitely a new record! Jessie asked Sam a couple of day ago what Jesus wanted for his birthday, and he responded, "A hippopotamus cake!" So we are making/eating one of those later today. Headed to Franklin tomorrow, and then Cranberry Township after that.

Spanish Fort

We recently spent the weekend in Spanish Fort (& Mobile & Gulf Shores) visiting my aunt and uncle. I grew up going to their house once or twice a year, and did that for about 20 years. It has been 3 or 4 years since I have been able to visit, and our kids went for the first time. It was surreal to have Sam & Maylin experience the same things I did as a child (riding the tractor, swimming in the pool, sleeping in the same rooms, playing with the same toys, etc.). It was a fun trip! The last picture was after we got back; Sam and Maylin insisted on both sitting on my lap at the same time!
